Complete Pg 347 in Notebook as Primetime to understand how to analyze a primary source.

Go over the Student Sheet in essay packet to understand goal of persuasive essay packet.

Discuss different governments and democracy so to have a clear definition of what it means to be democratic.

Read and discuss background essay in packet to form an understanding of who Andrew Jackson was.

Collect folders with Documents and cut out so that all 11 are individual.

Put documents into two separate piles. One pile should represent documents that show the perspective that Andrew was Democratic and the other pile should represent document that show the perspective that he was undemocratic.

Use the chicken foot to create thesis statement.

Collect and complete outline to demonstrate how you paper will be constructed.

Friday, Date

Collect and put name on legal size of folders to be organized for Primetime.

Review and discuss the background essay in order to draw some conclusions about Jackson.

Read, discuss and analyze documents 1-5 to discover how democratic Andrew Jackson was.

What video on Jackson from icue.com to conclude that Jackson was very popular.
Collect folders with completed thesis statement and finish filling out outline individually.

Primetime: Collect folders and review documents by putting a small + if you think the document supports Jackson was Democratic and by putting a - if the document supports if Jackson was undemocratic.

Read, discuss and analyze documents 5-10 to discover how democratic Andrew Jackson was.

Discuss and make a list of events that were talked about in the 11 Documents.
